    One of the main reasons for deforestation of the rainforests is for plantations of palm oil, therefore palm oil is destroying the forests in my opinion.

    Palm oil plantations are wrong and cause so much destruction of many animals fragile ecosystems, it shouldn't be allowed but it is, all due to developing countries huge appetite for fuel.

  3. In this political climate (claiming CO2 is all important at the expense of habitat preservation), it has been used as an excuse to cut down the forrests for palm oil plantations.

    The proliferation of junk science is not doing the environment any good.

    Indonesians are exporting rice and oil palm produced in Borneo.

    The only reason they are now growing million hectares of oil palm(in place of rice...) in Borneo is the biodiesel market...
