My son has ADHD. He is 10. He sometimes tells events in a really bizarre way and tells it like everyone is against him.

Like when a friend of his had an embarassing problem, and left some little balls of poo in his room (don't ask!) my boy started saying that the boy hates him and is allways 'getting' him and he hates him so much he pooed on his floor on purpose.

An he says that people allways open their car windows as they pass to stare at him and they are thinking 'look at that fat (he is not even a bit fat) stupid idiot'

I said that they were just passing by and didn't have anythung better to look at, and he had no reason to think that they didn't like him but he won't listen. In fact he just does ther LA LA LA LA thing at me because 'I allways take everyone elses side'.

Does anyone elses ADHD kid do that?

  1. Sounds like he's been misdiagnosed.  Take him to another doctor, could be paranoid schizophrenia (my bf's son was misdiagnosed for years, including as ADHD).

Or his meds might need adjusting, but get that 2nd opinion just to be safe.

    Good luck.

  2. im adhd and i get very paranoid thiking people are out to get me and stuff thinking things are hiding and i think people are talking about me behind my back alot. yhh im really paranoid.

predict what others think of me and i also think that people always take the other persons side and never want to belive me lol. ahhh!

i dont think all of us are like it but i know i am. even when i was younger i thought things were plottin to kill me. :S

  3. ADHD is as it stands for

    Attention Deficit (Lacking)

    Hyperactive Disorder

Basically your looking at a low attention span, and massive amounts of energy. Also communication issues where the ADHD kid cannot understand why the world around him is so different from him. You child seems like he is developing anger issues perhaps in response to his inability to communicate and understand you and your body language and that of other people.

This is why I believe he believes that everyone is hostile to him, because he cannot understand what a non hostile person is or he is confused to what hostile and no hostile is. Its not due to paranoia but that of misunderstanding of the world around him.

Remember always - we only know what we are told and taught. ADHD kids have a hard time learning and retaining information due to their nature so there is a good chance he doesn't share the same view of the world as "normal people".

I would recommend going to a mental health doctor the can help you understand your child.

  4. Is he on Ritalin?

I have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, even tourettes, you name it I got it. The fact is I was just naughty but thats not the point.

Most doctors I went to put me on ritalin, and after a few years of numbness, paranoia, and hearing voices at 3 in the morning, my mother took me off and they stopped.

If your son is on Ritalin then take him off for a while and see what happens. I found Dexamphetamine helped calm me down and feel friendly.
