Is parchment paper the same as wax paper?

i want to remove the iron on from my hoodie and i heard ironing parchment paper over it will remove it, but will wax paper do the same thing?

Parchment paper is made from animal skin whereas wax paper is a plant derived material (paper) treated with a usually molecular heavy hydrocarbon (wax).

Heating the hydrocarbon in wax paper could cause a combustion reaction + fumes + damage!

Actually, a regular piece of blank paper (not wax) is rumored to work as a removing medium.

The reason why many people choose the parchment paper is the fact that in can heat up more than regular paper - as it has a higher flash point.

parchment paper does not have a wax side. it will not do the same thing. you can buy it at walmart or some grocery stores.

They are not the same.  Wax paper will leave a residue on your "hoodie"  Parchment paper is designed to "suck up" residue from cloth etc.

I have heard that brown paper bag will work like parchment paper.  I have not tried it, so I can't promise anything, sorry.

no wax paper has a coating on it..it could possibly stain your hoody
