  1. hey I like this one.  I wanna kno too, my mom is going soon.

  2. No there are those street rats.

  3. NOPE THERES GANGSTERS/GANGS SHOOTING EVERYDAy

  4. I haven't lived in Paris, but I've visited several times.  There is very little violent crime inside the city of Paris.  Use common sense, watch out for pickpockets, and you'll be fine.

  5. Depends in which parts!

  6. its safe just be carful who you talk to tho

  7. They have big unemployment issues there, and there have been riots and protests in recent months because of it.  As far as a place to live, you would do well to have someone assist you in finding a place in a safe area, where the protests haven't been known to happen.

Not that it's advertised, but there are millions of rats living under the streets of Paris.  Far more in fact, than there are people living in the city.

While going about your business, tell everyone you are from Canada.  They will treat you better that way.

  8. its quite lovely

  9. Of course, but it's very expensive if you're moving from the US there cause a euro is like 0.6 dollars. I went last summer and had a splendid time with a tour group, though don't buy their souvenirs some are over priced. The foods great too!

  10. It depends what parts you're in.  It is very safe, though obviously I wouldn't reccommend walking in certain areas on your own at night - the same as any city.  There are also certain metro lines would be dodgy at night.  But I can't remember which ones lol sorry!!

  11. It's generally very safe, but it depends on the districts. You will quickly and easily recognize the parts that are not too good (usually north east) and the type of people that cause trouble (it doesn't have much to do with unemployment despite what someone else said).

It's a great place to live in because it has so much to offer but it's a big, overcrowded city so it can be stressful too. On weekends you might want to get away from the city from time to time. If you want something quieter, you can move to one of the good suburbs (some are bad and dangerous but there are also a lot of safe, pleasant and convenient ones) and enjoy Paris on weekends. It's up to you.

It's a generally clean city. The stories about rats are nonsense. There are 3 times fewer rats per inhabitant than in New York and you never see them, they live in the sewers and play an environmental role in dealing with the refuse.

Paris is a great place, you'll love it provided you like city life.

  12. Paris is a safe, but very expensive town.

  13. Well, it depends. I live quite near to the Eiffel Tower... AND IT'S SO COOL! I totally love it! About safety... well, nothing never happened to me...

I'm sure you're going to love Paris.

PS: I agree with Paul E... it's an expensive town.

  14. Paris is a great place to live.

If you are American, please do not expect it to be like the US; Two ice cubes in a drink are alot, air conditioning gives you a cold, smiling excessively is silly & never ask about how much money someone makes.

Respect the French ways of life. Please make an effort to speak the language.

It is safer than NYC and, just like every big city, familiarize yourself with the "good" parts of town and the "bad". Watch yourself and use common sense.

Appreciate the beauty of the city while you are there. I didn't until I left.

  15. I guess, you're an american. Pairs  is how should I say this. If your a guy it's safer than for a girl. Pairs is not like the USA. Don't be out late at night and try and stay away from the cheep side of the city. You know what I mean. Bring your pepper spray if your a girl. Like most cities it has it's good and bad places. Just use your head. Ask directions from police. Don't be out late at night, and don' t flash any money around. If you are going out to club, bring a group of friends and a few strong american guy friends. Spend time learning the language, cause all the signs seem to be in french. Don't be offended if the people don't like you.  Bring extra money for the bathrooms, because it cost to go there. The city is dirty so don't be too shocked if someone pukes on the streets. Learn to enjoy walking. Since you will walk everywhere there. Don't be afraid to try the local food. Though you might prefer american foods. There are fast food places, but it's not the same. Star-bucks seems to be everywhere I went so I hope you like coffee. In short have a great trip and bring a jacket, and an umbrella since it's cold and rains. If a guy pinches your back side it's a compliment; so I'm told. So don't slap his face. Just run away. Also avoid the artist. They'll try and draw your face and ask for money. Just avoid the pushy people. Have a safe trip.
