Is parking reverse in a parking space illegal?

So, say at a parking lot you reverse into your spot, is that illegal in California?

Not unless there's a sign and I've never heard of a sign saying no reverse parking, etc.

If it is a 90 degree spot open to both directions of traffic, it's OK, unless there is a sign posted saying you can't...If it is a diagonal spot for one-direction traffic, it is not advisable...There are not any public traffic laws relating to parking lots because parking lots are mostly on private property...Thus, the owner of the property can have the improperly parked vehicle towed at the owner's expense... Parking for government buildings may be a different story
