  1. Unless your buying the egg pasta - such as egg noodles and such - it is vegan/vegetarian.

Read the label to set yourself at ease would be my suggestion.

  2. generally, yes. but of course, read the label.

  3. There are many ingredients that can be used to make pasta dough. They range from a simple flour and water mixture, to those that call for the addition of eggs, spices and cheeses, or even squid ink to the dough. Read the label before purchasing the product.

  4. You'll have to read the ingredients as it depends on the company.  A company that makes egg rolls will likely make their spaghetti with the same batter!   Some spaghetti and Macaroni  contain animal oil or egg sometimes both!  Some without that are Vegan!

  5. Most dry pastas ARE vegan.

Read the ingredients to check for egg.

  6. If it has eggs, then no. Read the ingredient list before you eat anything if you're a vegan.

  7. Most spaghettis are infact vegan. The only thing you have to watch out for are things like ramen and canned noodle soups because the noodles contain eggs so the noodles won't disenegrate when soaked in water for long periods. Whole wheat pastas are practicaly all vegan. Just check the labels and you should be fine.

  8. Most pasta are generally made with eggs which is against the vegan principle.

I don't how they make pasta without eggs but I am sure there is an acceptable vegan "version".

  9. most store bought pastas are vegan but some (especially homemade pasta) are made with eggs. read labels to be sure.

  10. Most is.  If it's dried pasta, and it isn't egg noodles, it should only have flour and water, maybe some vegetable added (which provides little more than color and a bit of flavor).  Fresh pastas are typically made with egg, so you'll want to avoid it.  The moral of the story?  RTFL.

  11. Most of it is. You just have to read the ingredients! I buy Whole Foods' brand of whole wheat pasta products like linguine, shells...the only thing I can think of (in terms of noodles) that isn't vegan are EGG noodles.

  12. *Most* dry pasta is (it's just enriched semolina flour and water.)  Of course, egg noodles are made with eggs, so aren't.  A lot of flavored pastas (spinach and tomato, for example) are also made with egg.

*Most* fresh pastas are not vegan.  Again, eggs are the culprit.

  13. Examine the package carefully.  By law, a list of ingredients must be listed on the package.  If eggs are used in the pasta making, then it would not be truly vegan; but do check the label.
