Question:

Is paying a company $300/mo for SEO worth it?

I am working for company that currently uses Real Search Listings (http://www.realsearchlistings.com/index.html) as their SEO solution. I have been asked to find out whether or not this is worthwhile as they are paying RSL $300/mo. It seems to me that all this company does is add and edit keywords. Now, I have looked into the SEO Studio software and figured I could do the same things myself as the company is paying RSL $300/mo for. So, has anyone used Real search Listings before? Is it worth paying a company $300/mo for SEO? Do they do things I could easily do myself? What about SEO Studio? Has anyone ever used that and had good results? Direction would really be appreciated.

  1. NO!!!!  I use autosurf programs like www.topsurfing.net to get FREE hits. They help a lot in getting your website higher in the search engines. I have NEVER paid for ANY advertising and my sites do well in search engines.

  2. That seems high to me. I found a place in Dallas, TX you might find out works better. They charge $295 once, and then the hosting services, and they are going to save you headaches!

  5. Seo is something that needs to be done regularly if you want to stay at the top of search engines.  This can prove to be very costly if your paying someone.  Have you considered doing it yourself?

There is a really helpful tool at http://bestmoneymaker.co.uk/index.php?pr... it offers a free indepth seo report in exchange for a link on your blog or site.  The report will tell you how to get yourself to the top of search engines

  6. your answer is NO!

as SEO is just a concept a "design concept"

SEO is a way of writing inHTML that is search engine friendly and 300$$ a month is a rip off just remember this simple equation

    SEO=heavy content

if your sight is content heavy you dont need SEO my suggestion is get some back links, send some e-mails and list with a business listing

    ie..www.salesmedium.com or thomasnetregistry

    I hope this helps

  7. I really don't know the answer any better than anyone else here has already outlined.  However, I do have a suggestion.

If you believe you can learn SEO, and for the most part anyone who can rub to sticks together and take the time to start a fire can learn SEO.  Then offer your company this option.

    1.  Stop paying $300 per month to this 3rd entity.

    2.  Have them sign you up in some bleeding edge SEO courses on or off line.

    3.  Provide them a contract of committment for how long you will remain with their company as a result of the education they provide you.

That should cost far less than $300 a month for you to become an SEO expert.

With that training you can open your own SEO company on a moon light basis till your agreed terms above have been met, then go out on your own as their is indeed real money to be found in SEO'ing.

    NOTE:

Expand beyond mere SEO into Web 2.0 technologies like Social Networking & Social Bookmarking.  You'll never be sorry for having done so.

  8. First of all, realsearchlistings.com is a pay for click [PFC] management company specializing in pay for click keyword manipulation for google, yahoo, msn search engine/directory submission.  Their use of specialized PFC software is not limited to mere changes in keyword entries, but provides suggestions on how certain text/copy is to be placed on relevant webpages.  Whether or not you want to spend $300/mo. for their services is purely a business decision.

On the other hand, after a cursory review of realsearchlistings.com opening webpage SEO metatags, I would not use their services if one were to judge the extensive use of spamdexed/duplicate entries in their own <keywords> metatags as evidence of their professional managmenent of keywords.  Again, loading of duplicate keywords and phrases is a sure fire way to get one's website dropped from Google, Yahoo or MSN search database because their User Guidelines clearly state that "do not use spamdexing as a means to artificially raise one's PR [Page Rank]. ... Anyone can report spamdexed webpages via SpamReport @Google.com and have the offending website dropped from our search database."

In conclusion, we recommend that you pass on the $300/mo PFC management offer and simply promote your company's website by effective SEO placement on the opening webpage.  Here's a helpful article:

    Placement of SEO Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google

and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which

should consist of no more than 65 characters separated

by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic

terms, the goods and services, followed by a location

from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.

The placement of a domain name which is not generic

within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your

domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is

usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which

best describes one's goods and services.

And the very last category - "Keywords" are also

somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural

    and compound in nature.

    Good luck!

  9. Well it depends on what they can do, and before you close the deal to that company ask them who are their clients and the proof of far their achievements.
