The school is accredited by several recognized accreditation agencies.

What you could do if you're not sure is contact the admissions office of a local university you respect and ask them what they have to say about it.

My friends son graduated from penn foster and now has a good job. And Now my son is going to school there.

And he really likes it.

It's a "real school", and if that's all your criterion is, then it should do fine.  I would recommend unschooling because you can get more for your money, but that's just me.

I think by asking your question, you've answered it yourself.  If you've never heard of them, and have to ask if  they're real, then even if they are a real school they must not be very good.  So don't choose them.

It is a real school. They are legit, accredited and in good standing with the BBB.
