  1. I own a shop and every time we take a motor apart that has had pennzoil used in it the motors were all gummed up.Castrol GTX is the best.

  2. Uncle Jed is right.  However.....You may want to try Rotella T.  Find it at a truckstop.  Works wonders on gas engines.

  3. Theres so many miles on your car it wont really matter. But if you were to choose I wouldnt choose pennzoil. Either Mobil one or castrol. The oil level should be right at the full mark.

  4. I would not go with regular Pennzoil. Pennzoil Platinum is getting great reviews and will offer you a higher level of protection as it is a full synthetic. It is also very reasonably priced (especially in the 5qt container  @ Walmart).

Buy a quality filter (Bosch, AC Delco, Wix, K&N) and stay away from cheap filters (Fram) change your oil every 5k miles and your truck will last a very long time.

It is important to make sure that when the oil is freshly changed that you allow all of the oil to go into the oil pan prior to checking it. Once you check it as long as it in in the operating range you are fine. I usually try to have mine a hair below the full mark. Also make sure you check it on a level surface.

  5. Pennzoil or any name brand oil is fine and will do the job. Just change it and the filter  on a regular schedule. The oil should be all the way full at the top line on the dipstick.
