I need some help. My brother still watches Arthur or any other PBS Kids show, and how will I ever get him to stop watching it. He 19 years old and he's too old too watch it. He needs do start doing mature stuff. I used to watch Arthur on PBS kids, but I don't watch it no more because it was g*y and retarded and I'm too mature. I stopped watching it because it was dumb. I'm 16 years old and I don't watch PBS Kids shows no more. When you have a child who is over fourteen years old, tell them to stop watching it.

  1. Hey Arthur rocks!!! I got hooked on them with my 7yo sister and I'm 18

  2. I agree, to an extent.  PBS kids shows are a little bit lame for a 19 year old to watch, but it is better than some of the c**p I see 19 year olds watching on Nick, Spongebob Squarepants and all the other cartoons should NOT be watched by anyone over the age of 10, period.  Now, I still occasionally flip on Disney Channel, but some shows you should age out of, I'd be more upset over Nick than PBS.

  3. I'm not familiar with "Arthur", but obviously your brother is getting something from the show. PBS programming is good stuff and I doubt it is detrimental to your brother in any way.

As for yourself, perhaps you might think about watching more educational T.V. I 'm sorry, but your grammar is atrocious. I would  seriously concern yourself with learning how to speak properly and not worry so much about your brother.

  4. All I can say is that I am 49 years old, and I still watch Sponge Bob!

  5. just because you don't like to watch a certain show doesn't mean that your brother has to not like it too. and no, when my child is 14 I'm not going to tell him to stop watching PBS, he can watch whatever he wants as long as it's appropriate, and PBS is appropriate for all ages. oh and by the way, mature people don't call children's shows "g*y and retarded". It seems to me that you're the one that needs to grow up.

  6. Well mental and emotional maturity may not have come to him yet. A 10 year old kid isn't too different from a 7 year old kid, but a 14 year old is much different than a 17 year old, it all has to do with puberty. It may just be a way for him to get into his "happy place" if you will and get away from the pressures of real life. My aunt watches cartoons every saturday morning and she's 30 or 40 something. Just because not many people do it doesn't necessarily mean it's unacceptable.

  7. Ok, dude... glad you stopped watching it but open a grammar book will you?

"Are people over fourteen too old..."

    "I don't watch it anymore".

    "Don't watch it anymore".

Maybe he just enjoys it.. Perhaps he'll learn something. Sounds like you could use some PBS.

  8. there is no age limit on TV shows for adults.  leave him alone.

  9. As a mom of two I enjoy watching cartoons and I am 29 years old.  Some people hold on to youth and that is perfectly fine.  Your brother will actually be able to stand to watch cartoons with his own children someday where you will only be annoyed by it.

  10. lol I am 15 and still watch arthur every morning at 7:30...

  11. Better not be, I decided on my major late life (50) hobby of furnace glassblowing after seeing a very nice presentation on doing on 3-2-1 Contact, a teen show that is no longer around.   Anything (almost*) on PBS is better than soap operas, judges, and angry talk shows.

Calling a show "g*y and retarded" that you used to enjoy is a good indication you still have some growing up to do.

*Barny IS retarded, but I can say that because I never liked it.
