  1. Any type of straightening is really bad for your hair. But personally the professional hair straightening is better for your hair because they have the right conditinors for you to use!

  2. They can be very beneficial to your hair,  however, if you don't take care of your hair, then it will be a total mess.

First of all, I must tell you that the upkeep is crazy. Once you get the hair straightener, the regrowth will start coming in curly, and you will have to straighten it by hand to make it blend.

I would suggest that you stick to the old fashioned flat iron and do it yourself, unless you are ready to keep up with the expense.

    Hope that helps ya!

  3. Yes, but you do it in moderation.  I am assuming you would be using a relaxer - I have used relaxers many times and you know you are doing damage.

Relax it for half of the time indicated on the box (it's intended for African Americans with curlier hair than you) and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize afterwards to save your roots.

  4. You have to go to a professional for this one.  Any chemical service is going to damage your hair, but as long as you dont, have bleach in your hair, you should be okay.

  5. yes - getting a relaxing perm does ruin your hair.

    but so does flat ironing.
