Question:

Is pest control safe for my baby?

We just moved to this apartment for 3 weeks. The apartment management is gonna have pest control for every apartment in the building, because there are so many roaches in the building. I have a 3-month old baby. What concerned me a lot is whether the pest control treatment is gonna hurt my baby. I googled, it seems that some pesticide may cause some cancer/disease while you expose the youth to those pesticide chemicals.

what should I do to minimize the harm may do to my newborn baby?

Thanks very much

  1. it depends on what they are using to control the pests...  fogging or bombing will be really bad for her, if they are just spraying this also could be bad because your baby is on the floor and those chemicals can spread..  i hope they are just setting some traps and not spraying in your apt.  i would request they don't spray her room or the common room and not bomb or fog..  usually when they do apartments they avoid those areas anyway and just do routine checks that shouldn't hurt you or your baby.  talk to them or your landlord and see exactly what they are doing then mention that to your pediatrician and they can help you out...
