If that's what the hamster makes you think of, sure! You should name it whatever strikes you as fitting for it (her?). It's creative, and not traditional, like Oreo, of Fluffy. But names are forever, so be careful and think before naming anthing.

i like it becuase a petal is tiny and round and kinda fluffy like a hamsterr. i agree with you LOVE IT........... i mite steel ur name if i ever get a hamster.lol

I have never seen a hamster that made me think Petal was a good name. I do like the originality though! I just cant imagine saying Hi to Petal when i got home every day! i personally think its a wierd name but if thats wht ur going 4... its perfect.

I think some cute hamster names would be

- Bella

- Fluff/ Puff

or more nature"ish" names

- cloud

- Rainy
