I am taking phentermine for weight loss and am concern about any dangers concerning my heart. Doctors Diet Program said that it was derived from Phen-phen but does not have the portion in it that effects the heart. i have been looking on line for any info but can not find any. I would love some solid info about this suppressant

  1. The "fen-phen" diet pills were 2 drugs in combination: fenfluramine and phentermine.  The largest part of the blame was laid on the first drug, fenfluramine, but the combination was especially harmful.  While phentermine does affect the heart (increased rate, etc.), it remains legal.  Be aware that it is a stimulant, it is addictive, and it could have untoward effects, especially if your heart is already weakened.

Google FEN-PHEN instead of phen-phen and there's tons of informatin on both drugs.

Good luck on your diet, and hope this helps!

  2. Yes it can affect your heart.
