But it has elements of processes or methods in it.

The best analogy for philosophy is the tumbler that you polish river stones in until they shine.  Keep knocking ideas around until the faults either shatter the nugget idea or the sharp edges are smoothed and some truth radiates for all to see.

Philosophy can be as random as evolution.
