  1. Yeah it's really good - Phosphorus is one of the main nutrients plants/grass needs.

  2. All fertilizers have phosphates and nitrates in them, just in differing amounts.  They will do a fine job of fertilizing your lawn, but ONLY use the recommended amount.  Any that runs off will get into your local water supply, and into the environment.  Both phosphates and nitrates can have a negative effect on your water shed.

  3. Yes it is within reason.

It is one of the fundemntals in soil nutrition.

But it is highly soluble, and moves quite easily. This is one of pollutants of many of our rivers.

For this reason, prior to applying any fertilizer to your lawn, get a soil test done.

Only apply what is needed. This will help your grass grow better, while protecting our water resources.

  4. Yes!!

  5. I must ask - I presume you mean the type of grass found on lawns, as opposed to the more interesting variety much in vogue in rastafarian circles?

The relative quantities of nitrogen, phosphor and potassium are measured in what's known as the N-P-K ratio, you will see it on the back of any fertiliser.  The fertiliser has to have the right NPK balance for the plant during it's specific growth phase.

For the more interesting variety of grass you need an NPK balance of 15-30-5 during the leaf growing phase with the emphasis switching to 15-15-30 during budding/flowering, the nitrogen and phosphor help develop the leaves and stem and roots earlier on, but the potassium is more helpful during the budding/flowering stage, it increases flower size and aids production of the THC components.

Fertilising with phosphates made from the combination of phosphor bombs and napalm tends not to do grass of either variety any good, but it looks d**n impressive from half a mile away.

  6. Phosphate helps with root growth.  Nitrate helps with leaf growth.  You need a mixture of the two for grass.

  7. DEFINITELY YES.but dont put on to much to often.read instructions first!!!.
