Is picknik better than photoshop?

I bought photoshop 6 and I am now seeing this picknik stuff. Is photoshop better than picknik or are they the exact same?

Picknik cannot be compared to Photoshop, GIMP or the likes. It is in a completely different league altogether. The latter are mainly for serious graphic artists and professionals. That does not make Picknik bad. It all depends on what you want to use it for. Even though your version of Photoshop is old, it's still way above Picknik in image editing capabilities. Well, Picnik has a free version, the full version is cheap (per year), and you don't need to install anything to use it (well, you do, but the odds are you have everything it needs already).

Photoshop is expensive, but has a lot more features and once you've bought it, you've bought it. (Version 6 is very old though).

"Better" depends on your needs. If Picnik does what you need it to do, then its probably the better choice for you. There is room in the market for both products though.

Photoshop is the best graphics editor available.  Your version is a little old, about 7 years or so.  There are at least 4 newer versions.  

I took a look at Picknik.  It does not even compare to Photoshop.  If all you want to do is some simple editing, such as cropping, and maybe a little cleaning up, you can use just about any editor.  But if you wish to learn to do some real graphics editing, then Photoshop is the tool that you need to learn.
