Is pill form codeine from 1996 safe to take?

I found some of my old codeine(pill form) when i was going through some of my old boxes the other day and was wondering if they are safe to take.

  1. It will bee safe as long as they are still in the packet. I have some six months old and i take them and iam still writing this.

  3. No as part of codiene is tylenol which changes chemical structure approx. 6 months after expiration date.  It is very dangerous as not sure what it will do.

  5. Certainly not. The drugs has a limit time to take it is about 2 or 3 years at least.

  7. no, its over ten years old and definitely expired, take your pills to a pharmacy that can properly dispose of old drugs. if you need narcotics for pain see your doc about it
