Is pinball repair profitable?

I have recently completed restoring two 1970 era pinball machines. I found it oddly enjoyable and have begun to wonder if repairing and restoring pinball machines is a worthy potentially profitable endeavor.

  1. Yes, but...

    ...don't quit your day job.

Unless you live in a major metropolitan area, it's unlikely that you'd be able to have a steady stream of projects to be able to make a decent living at it.  And with the economy somewhat sour right now, it's unlikely that homeowners with broken pinball machines in their dens are willing to spend a few hundred dollars to fix them up again.  But as a secondary source of income, or a money-making hobby, go for it!
