Coastal plains include beaches.  Flood plains can be located on both sides of rivers, but not always.  Some rivers have high bluffs on one side and flood plains on the other.

THERE ARE INSTANCES OF PLAINS AT OR NEAR THE BEACH AND FLOOD PLAINS ARE DEPENDENT ON THE GEOLOGIC MAKEUP OF THE AREA IN QUESTION. AT MY BIRTHPLACE ON THE BANKS OF THE OHIO RIVER THERE WERE/ARE FLOOD PLAINS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE OHIO.
