  1. playing cards are not gambling by itself

    Its a game

It becomes haram when you play with money, because only then it is gambling

  2. Cards are not haraam by them selfs, I've heard some people say that gambling is haraam, but I'm not sure about that

Ask your mom why exactly she thinks cards are haraam.  As far as I know no pigs or pig by products are used in the creation of playing cards.  So the only reasons I can see (besides gambling which I'm sure you aren't going to do) is that the pictures on the queen cards aren't veiled and that slapping the cards could be considered violent.   For the latter, learn some new games that don't involve slapping.  To fix the former, buy a deck that doesn't have pictures of humans on the face cards, they cost a bit more than just a normal pack of bicycles but if you really want a haraam free card deck, its worth it.

  3. Uhmmm.. what?! It's a simple deck of cards which I am sure Islamic people understand that by playing with them you are not stragically planning to attack them or making fun of their beliefs. Buy that deck of cards son! Be a rebel!
