Is playing the flute in band dorky?

I am also forced by my parents to be in band until college it sucks!! And i really dont look forward to marching band!

No! I also play the flute in my band and no one ever calls me a dork. I say talk to your parents, and see if they understand. If they don't, just think of all the advantages! Flute is my passion, and that was my own decision. Just hang in there! The flute is a beautiful instrument!
