For example, due to people hunting red pandas, that species is an endangered animal. So would it be an ethical issue, that I could address in an editorial?

  1. Yes you could address it, however you should also address situations when hunting animals is a humane and necessary thing.  Through management primarily by hunters their are more whitetail deer in North America than in 1492.  If currently hunters did not hunt the deer many would be faced with getting hit by cars, or the possibility of disease.  Most hunters do it right, to provide some extra food for their families.

  2. if your hunting for food then absolutely NO----anything else absolutley YES

  3. yes, of course

  4. Yes you could treat it as an ethical issue. Be aware however, that people's ethic's vary greatly from area to area, especially on a global scale. What seems totally unethical to you may be perfectly ethical, and possibly even traditionally or religiously entrenched in the lives of people in other countries or cultures.
