I want to travel to Poland's capital with a friend for a few days. The only think that worries me a bit, is that I saw a documentary on TV saying that Poland is extremely racist (the program is the one where the guy from eastenders goes around the world looking at dangerous places). Can anyone tell me their experience of being in Poland? Night and day, where you went, how you felt, did you go to rural areas or urban etc.. thanks

  1. I cannot say Poland is racist or not based on one holiday so I will say this: it was the first time |'ve ever felt really different because there were hardly any non-white people around.

  2. Poland is still a very pure country. There are many beautiful parks with amazing tree's and amazing scenic views. Poland has many stunning castles, monuments and architectures. Castle in Krasziczyn (belongs to Poland) is one of the most beautiful castles  existing in Europe today, and its open for tours. The food is irresistible and very natural, straight from the farms. Cherries there are enourmous (no joke), size of a b i g nut. Its a remarkable country and I'm very Proud to be Polish.

Polish people are not racist, but communisim many have changed them, and some are unpleasant. I've been to Poland many times, and its the perfect vacation. I noticed my skin imporoved from the wheather (not dry, not too humid) and the healthy and unmodified food. Also being surrounded by such surroundings can make your head spin, in a good way.

I just had to add, that Polish people do not eat musli for breakfast. The person above me is making up stories lol. Us Polish people eat soup for breakfast, kanapki ( a sandwich, without bread on teh top) with a combination of cottage cheese, normal cheese, ham (poland has the best ham I have ever tasted in my entire life), egg, tomato, spring onion, you decide. Polish people eat good food.

Warsaw or Warszawa i noticed is not the most beautiful city. Try visiting Przemysl, Krasiczyn or Krakow.

  3. poland is a deadly country drink is 1 euro ie 4 zloties

    taxis are p**s cheap

archetichure is amazing like dublin's docklands area!

plenty of history war sites ect

the police are like soilders well trained in displince and make a good photo oppurtunity!

and every place always has a lively old town that seems to operate all nite selling everything and unemployed people are actually tourist attractions yes the unemployed people are an asset to the old town in creating a festive atmosphere ie they dance with fire martial arts, breathe flame!

much better that the ones here who just sit on the ground wi a cup waitin for money.

their government is very tourist hungry and have made hotels everywhere that are cheap i actually got to stay in a 5* raddision hotel

but i hope ye like eatin nesquick or musli for breakfast because thats all central europe seems to eat!

crime is very low but common sense is advised just don't hang around the train stations go to and from but never stay around there trying to decide your next move!

  4. Poland is not racist I was born there and I know its not. Many people go there from around the world to learn about the history and culture. If you go to the capitol of Poland(Warsaw)you will see many different types of people on tours. It is really nice and beautiful too. When I went there on vacation after I already moved I went to visit the Lazienki Park and Palace and I also went on some bus around the city.It was s0o0o0o much fun..

  5. You will love it in Poland.  It is not racist at all.  It is a country with a lot of history.  We stayed in rural and urban places, and it was very safe and unpretentious.  Also the food was wonderful.  No genetic modification of crops......Relax and enjoy yourself.  Poland is fabulous, one of the most refreshingly untouched countries I have ever traveled to.

  6. Poland isn't extremely racist. maybe 10 years ago but now it's different. I live in small town my english teacher was from Ghana, we have doctor from Gambia, pharmacist from India. As far as I know they like living in this country. Of course you can meet racist sometimes and they bring shame on Poland but most of Poles are broadminded. Poland is weird and sometimes difficult country but not dangerous. Give us a chance:)

  7. Poland is not that racist and ive seen lots of other people there! but normally people would want to take pictures of you and point but only if they havnt seen someone lik that! Its always people that cant bahave properly and dchildren so its nothing to worry about! :) so if your going to warsaw- that capital, you wont get that !

    hope ive helped

    :)

  8. Poland is not racist at all. True, not having had African or Asian colonies, Poland has never developed an African or Asian minority, but foreign students have always been present at Polish colleges and from what I have been told, they always make good friends. Obviously, you have to be careful where you step (and when), but that has nothing to do with the complexion.

By the way, in the village where I live, the most popular doctor is an immigrant from Angola.
