  1. polar bear is a very special animal and should all help to be protected.

  2. No. I have always wondered what one would taste like.

  3. yes. there has been a small bounce back in a few populations but overall they look like they are in trouble.

    predicted change in pop.

BTW worldemp... polar bears live on the ice for part of the year and this is the main time they feed. they dont feed in summer while they are on land.

  4. The majority of polar bears live near land masses (along coastlines) and prefer traveling on sea ice (where food is plentiful).  Several studies have found that the shrinking arctic ice (breaking up earlier each year) has resulted in declining weights of the polar bear.  The concern is that as their fat content decreases (because they can't find as much food during the shorter hunting season caused by the declining ice) they won't be able to reproduce as well.

Due to over hunting in the past, these magnificent creatures were almost eliminated.  Luckily, changes in hunting laws have allowed their population to increase back to a healthier level.  If would be sad to see those gains undone because of global warming.  So in order to counter the toll global warming is taking on them, they should be protected even further from hunting.

  5. No, The population is increasing. Even polars habitats are increasing. Case in point, There is ice and snow from the North Pole to western Kentucky.

Gotta go, There is a polar bear trying to eat my chickens.

  6. Drowning??? Then why is a polar bear called

    Ursus maritimus  (Sea Bear)?

  7. i think it will be better if we don't disturb them or its habitat, nature will protect it.when humans interfere there living it causes changes.man go behind animals saying to protect them and later they itself kill them.

  8. Yes they do need to be protected, I agree with Hannah J,

  9. yes, they are endangered because their habitats are being destroyed by humans because of global warming, which leads to the ice melting and polar bears cant just stay in the water they need ice to live on and fish to eat.

i did a report on this recently. stop global warming!

  10. yes because if people start hunting them then they will start to becoming extinct.

  11. How can we protect them when we are melting his home? What we going to do, take them to the south pole?

  12. Polar Bears are not endangered.

  13. Actually, yes.

They're numbers were on the rise, but are now falling because of the ice caps melting.

For the first time ever recorded, scientists are finding polar bears drowning because they cant find land. It's true they can swim for miles, but sometimes it wasnt far enough to find land.

ICUN is considering marking them as a threatend speices.

  14. The sub-populations of about 3,000 each should be protected from hunting.     The polar bear population in total has increased about five-fold since the 1960s though - the predictions that global warming will resume and that this in turn will devastate the polar bear populations comes from people who haven't exactly hit their predictions so far.....

Gengi is right and wrong - they do go back and forth between sea ice and land but they do hunt on land as well.
