Is political correctness becoming something to limit our free speech?

I'm beginning to wonder that myself. Especially here at yahoo!answers.  People get reported on the little things and on stuff that should be reported, people seem to ignore it.

It does limit free speech.  However, it does more to limit hate speech and ignorance than it does to deter positive messages.  It's kind of a double edged sword.
