  1. YES it makes your nuckels swell and look fat... its bad and gross... eew

  2. No it is not bad for you because all you are doing is popping a small bubble of nitrogen (like bubble wrap) and the bubble makes the "popping" sound. Your mom may just want you to stop because a surprisingly lot of people think it is bad and they find the sound annoying or distracting.

  3. It is actually really bad! If you keep popping your knuckles now then later in life the will most likely swell up and cause arthritis! Meaning it will hurt like heck! So stop while you can =]

  4. its been proven you WONT get arthritis from cracking your nuckles all it is ..is air pockets in your knuckles that makes a sound when you release them

  5. Contrary to popular belief. It will NOT cause arthritis later in life.

  6. when you pop your knuckles, you're just releasing air pressure from your joints.  no big deal, no arthritis, no joint deterioration.

  7. loosens grip other than that no.....no it dosn't cause arthritis. That's a myth....or is it??? LOL but no it is a myth.

  8. Actually, no. It's a really popular myth is all. In my anatomy class, we learned that research has shown no connection between the two (popping and arthritis, that is). The sound is simply caused by the suction between joints being broken...However, it can become a habit and be hard to break because it begins to seem as if your joints are always a little off. Anyway, as far as actual harm, no.
