my kids said their friends went power ditching(where you turn off people's power and run. similar to ding dong ditching.). i was wondering, is that legal? and if not i really would not prefer my children to be influenced that way.

  1. wow hopefully they dont hit some house where someone is on a respirator. please lecture them on being more considerate. pranks are OK but this one can have serious ramifications

  2. Yes, it is a crime. they can definitely get arrested for this.

  3. this is dangerous in so many ways.  aside from the whole electrical danger there is the whole trespassing issue.  Also maybe "destruction of private property." Then you need to think about the food in the resident's fridge and freezer... It could be ruined and the family would have to spend another 200 bucks on food to restock.  Something about this sounds illegal to me...don't you think?

I have 5 kids and if one of them said they were doing this I would flip out, ground them and tell the other children's parents about their activities.

  4. I would think so... what if someone in the house  had medical devices? (oxygen machines, baby monitors for preemies, etc.)
