  1. Perhaps "strategy" is too strong a word, but yes, pre-reading is critical to successful writing.

You don't say whether the subject of the writing is fact or fiction, analysis or projection. In any instance, assembling related information on the topic at hand can only benefit the writer and his or her production. And, of course, reviewing what one has written before submission isn't merely recommended but practically required of any writer who wishes to be taken seriously and given proper due.

Then again, perhaps you mean "pre-reading" as in reviewing prior to submission. Again, the answer is "Yes!" It would be irresponsible for a writer to do anything less. In sum, anyone who wants to write well, with meaning and authority must do the requisite research and subsequent review to ensure the integrity of the final draft, whether it is intended for publication or a term paper deadline.

  2. Yes because it helps to understand that how words are aligned on paper and that writing is from left to write as is reading.  As well, it shows that letters make words and make sense.

  3. Pre-reading is a reading strategy.  That's why it's called pre-reading.

  4. Pre-writing would be a writing strategy.  How can you pre-read something you haven't written yet?
