Is pregnancy a trend right now?

Question

It seems like everyone is getting pregnant. All the celebs are having babies and a bunch of girls I know want to get pregnant (I'm only 21). I think they want it more for the attention then the actual kid, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thoughts?

I am 23 and 36 weeks pregnant... I did it because I wanted one and I am in a happy relationship... There is a baby boom deffinately going on, people joke and say it is in the water, but with more people out of work, and less to do... they need something to do for free!!! Not to mention it just may be our age as well, most of your friends are probably around their early 20's which is the average age to have a baby... so it seems like a lot more people than it actually is... And as for the celebs... it may be a trend... but they have the money to do things like that... I just hope teens don't start to follow that trend... we already have enough teen mothers with fathers who aren't around!  I don't think it is for attention, maybe they see all of the cute little babies, and that little switch in their maternal instinct area gets flipped!

problem is that trends come and go quickly......babies are forever.  whatever their reasons, they will soon see that hollywood makes parenting look easy.  just like the movies that they see, it isn't reality.

Yep. Well, think about it. The last time the economy was so bad like it is now there was a baby boom. (Back in the WW1 and 2 days...) When times get tough people get a little closer... and    well-  they do a little dance... : )

I'm (only) 21 as well..... and I have a four month old.

:)  Yeah..just another baby boom.  I know alot of girls who have just had children and a few who are pregnant and will deliver within the next 6 months.  I don't think it is an attention thing, it is just something that happens when a female gets that motherly "button" pushed.
