I'm going to build a swingset, and they gave me pressure treated lumber at Home Depot. Is it safe? As far as I know, arsenic has been banned from use in PT lumber?

  1. Use gloves and wash your hands afterwards.

  2. The lumber should be safe.  It use to contain arsenic, but it no longer does.  Even the old stuff kids would have to ingest it from what I have heard.  So unless your kids eat wood, you should be way more then safe!!

  3. This type of timber is very safe. No harm to pets/ plants etc. plus it will last years longer than non pressurized timber.

  4. Yes it is.  Even with older methods of treating lumber, it would take a child to eat a 2x4x8 to get sick, but I would hope you would see something like this missing.
