  1. Not everyone in israel is Jewish. Israel is 76.4% jewish 16% muslim 2.1% christian 1.6% druze and 3.9% unspecified.

  2. not at all, like the US and other western democracies, israel has a sizable minority population that has full civil rights protected by the constitution. that means there are christians, muslims, druze and others in israel, with their own radio and tv station, newspapers, churches and mosques, etc.

they have freedom of speech, religion, assembly, all the civil rights like in any western country.

  3. No! About 80%.  There are 1.2 million Arab Muslims with around 8 voted in representatives in knesset.  There are christians, samarians, bah'ai, & a all sorts of others.

They all have religious freedom garanteed.

  4. I assume your reference is to Palestine.  It has been inundated by ex-jews since 1920 but with current birth-rates among the people of Palestine they should be equal in strength and numbers to the former jews by 2040.

  5. No! There are christians, muslim, druze & many others>

  6. It was an excellent job of ethnic cleansing, well documented by Ilan Pappe. So,yes - for now. But they will return. Palestinians, both Christian and Muslim.

  7. Only 80% of the population

  8. yup...

  9. 80% are Jewish.

A very small percentage of those are actually atheists, the fact that someone doesn't practice Judaism 100% does not make him an atheist, most Jews celebrate the holidays, many keep kosher and I'd say 80% of us keep yom kipur which is the day sins are forgiven.

And even an atheist Jew is still a Jew, you won't find many atheist Jews claiming they are not Jewish plus it didn't really matter to Hitler if you were an atheist or not so these people have Jewish right to be in Israel just as anyone else, that makes them just as Jewish as the most strict Orthodox Jew.

  10. around 76% are jewish (not all are practicing Judaism)

    20% muslims

the rest are christians, drusi and other religions.

i guess the answer as of this year will be ,yes.

  11. Yes and No depends on where you go in Israel...when I was in Jerusalem it seemed like the majority of people were jewish yet you did have a vast number of arab muslims and I only saw Christian pilgrims so...

There are a lot of Bedouin tribes we saw them as we drove to the beach...

    Druze- 1.6% (113,798)

    Other- 3.9% (277,382)

    West Bank: Population- 2,611,904

  14. Probably about 80%, like everyone says here, but not for long. The minorities group are getting bigger and bigger.

  15. yeah

  16. On the eve of Independence Day, 2008, the CBS reported that there are 5.4 million Jews living in Israel, compared to 5.2 million in the U.S., according to the latest United Jewish Appeal Federation survey.

Israel's population, as of 2007, is 7.1 million

    76.1% Jewish, 16.2% Muslim, 8.8% Christian, 8.4% Druze

  17. nope, there are muslims and christians there too.

  18. Only about 75% according to my reckoning. That means that 25% which are Jews plus 25% who are non-Jews can match or outnumber the 50% of the population which IS Jewish.

  19. not everyone probably 70-80% if someone lives in Israel it doesn't mean they're Jewish

  20. 20% of the Israeli population is not Jewish making 80% who are. Their level of observance is irrelevant, if their mother is Jewish they are Jewish.

The 20% who aren't include (Arab) Muslims, (Arab) Christians, Druze and Bedouins.

  21. No about 80 or 85%
