Is there anything I should know about priceline.com? Should I book with someone else like expedia.com, it would only cost maybe $75 more dollars.

  1. Priceline is absolutely reliable, if you have a flexible schedule I really recommend you use their "Name your own price" module and you can save significantly. I saved over $200 on my New York trip recently.  If you don't have a flexible schedule I would recommend try searching all the big 3: travelocity, orbitz, expedia to see who gives you the best rates. They are all very reliable and easy to use. You can also use kayak.com which is like a "travel search engine". A final note would be to go to check if there are any coupon codes such as in places like http://www.couponloco.com/coupons/pricel... to see if there are any deals and or coupon codes.

  2. See what price they offer you and then go to "Name your own price" and offer them like 50-100$ less.  The only problem with priceline is that you book when you offer...so if someone accepts the 100$ less, you may have several stops along the way and may depart at like 2am.  But other than that, I have only had wonderful experience with priceline.  I bought tickets to Amsterdam from Minneapolis (5 tickets) years ago and a hotel just last week...I use it all the time.  It's perfectly dependable and safe.  It's just that you have to be flexible.  It's kinda like an auction...they'll email everyone and say, "this person wants a ticket for only 700$"...and then a few places will get back with them within seconds and say "Okay, we'll do that and here's the ticket.".  No bargaining at that point.  You have purchased the ticket.  Which is why I would suggest less then you see on the tickets to begin with.  THen if you aren't accepted, some companies will counter offer.  and it's up to you.  I was anxious at first with putting in my credit card and not knowing what you'll get...but if you're flexible, it's the way to go.

  3. Priceline.com is a well reputed company, and you can go ahead to book with them, however, if you are still not sure, you can try http://www.moneybulls.com/travels.htm and book directly with airlines, hotels, using it powerful search engine to search and compare best available rates online on multiple travel websites. e.g airlines,, hotels, etc

Please note, priceline is website compareing travelrates online, and you pay them, whereas when you use above mentioned search engine, you can find lowest rates available with airlines or hotel itself and book directly with them , if you found lower rates then priceline.

I would suggest there is no harm with priceline as well.

    regards

  4. I've never had a problem with them. I very seriously doubt you will either. I would go for it, save $75.
