  1. What r u complaining about? U POMs idolise the royalty and that's ur just deserts. Send him to Iraq next on tour duty. Don't forget to address him as "His Royal Highness", what do u know, in 3/5 years he will be "His Majesty." Hehehe..........

  2. no it was for real,he did go.can't say how i know but i do,

  3. More than likely, as was spending millions of the defence budget on teaching him to fly when he'll never be used in action. A disgusting waste of money when there are under equipped front-line troops in places like Iraq and Afghanistan on which the money could have been spent instead.

  4. Oh stop being so pathetic..... The British working class chip on the shoulder mentality is really starting to get boring

  5. It is a case of cannot do right for doing wrong. The problem is that if the royals go to Afghanistan or Iraq  and it is know to those who are against the British they become a target for either kidnap or a bullet putting everyone else around them in greater danger. The Princes getting killed or wounded is not in itself a problem but getting kidnapped is, if only for political reasons. it is the same if say a very senior politicians son was there.  Funny how they never seem to put themselves in harms way.

It would be interesting to know how many MP's have sons or daughters in the armed forces and their ranks

  6. To put a few people straight - the heir to the throne is Charles not William.

Well, he did 10 months with the army then 3 months with the RAF (gaining his wings which normally takes 3 years - surprise).  Now he is off to the Navy!!!!!  Next,  he will be a fully qualified Navy diver no doubt.

  7. That's what figure heads are supposed to do. Look at the President of your local Golf Club, or your local Mayor they even have to turn up at events just to be seen to be showing support

  8. Are they crazy? Putting other troops lives at risk just for some photo oppportunities. And 3 hours? I thought they were tired of the press.

  9. Damage limitation!

  10. Prince William's surprise visit to British troops in Afghanistan drew a mixed response, with some dismissing it as public relations while others praised the future king. A spokesman said the trip was designed to help the young royal familiarise himself with Royal Air Force operations. On the visit, former royal protection officer Ken Wharfe suggested the Afghan visit may have been organised to divert attention from negative headlines in recent weeks. It said the visit was a "shameful waste of public money" and accused defence officials of using British troops in Afghanistan to try to "cleanse" the prince's image.

  11. PR move, PR move, prince william pulled a PR move!!

  12. Absolutely.

The powers that be want us to keep him in our affections. There has been a constant machine to keep the British public happy with him because he is going to be the future king.

They do not want the public to have a negative view of him.

  13. Of course it. Another waste of public money.

  14. um, if it was a ploy he would be there for more than 3 hours, he just wanted some duty free.
