Question:

Is pro-choice really pro-feminist/female?

Then why did Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton both oppose it stating that it is violence enforced against body and offspring? Why did Pearl S. Buck, Jane Adams, Maya Angelou and Patricia Heaton oppose it? Were they against women's rights after all?

  1. Yes.

  2. Being pro-life means you value the lives of unborn children as well.  In a sense, being pro-life means you're more of a HUMAN rights supporter than just a WOMEN'S rights supporter, since abortion for the most part only "benefits" women.

If someone is listening to George Carlin and living their lives based on what he said, I'd question their entire outlook on life.  He was funny and said some smart things, but he is by no means a genius.

  3. Yes, it is pro-feminist/female because it gives women the choice when and if they can reproduce instead of turning them into breeding sows. I've known many more women I felt shouldn't have had children when they did than those who didn't have them but I felt they should. Just because people used to have larger families than they do today, that doesn't mean they were happier. A lot of women dreaded having another baby because money was tight and they knew it was another mouth to feed.

  4. Pro choice is simply a code word to a concept called murder. It's not the child's choice. The father can't even choose to compel the woman to terminate the pregnancy. So it's not a fair choice, not fair to anyone.

  5. There are feminists who are pro-life.

Everyone is entitled to her opinion, as long as she doesn't actively try to prevent others from exercising their rights over their body.

  6. I have a feeling my answer is going to get a lot of "thumb's down", but here goes:

The whole feminist movement is, I believe, actually anti-female.  Women have been duped into the feminist mindset because, on the surface, it seems like a good idea.  Equal pay for equal work, etc.  But it is really an effort to turn women into men.

Men like s*x with no consequences and no commitment.  Abortion is one way to try to take away consequences for women, along with the birth control pill.  No one hawking abortion or hormonal birth control will tell you about the life-long regrets you may harbor after having an abortion, or that the pill might make you infertile, not to mention fat and grouchy.

Men like to make money and provide for and protect women.  Women are "hard-wired" to be protected and in turn nurture children.  Men and women are meant to complement each other, not compete with each other--whether that be in the home, or the office.  But feminism has tried to make Men and Women not just equal, but the same.

The feminist movement is fundamentally flawed, because no amount of social conditioning can make Men and Women the same.  It is biologically, psychologically, emotionally, and in all other ways, impossible.

  7. You are right about how someone being Pro-Women's Rights CAN be Pro-Life. I am all for women's rights, but when it comes to harming someone else(as abortion does) I will stand up for what is right. Why can't I be Pro-Women's Rights and stand up for the rights of others? What about if the unborn child is a future woman? Shouldn't she have rights as her mother does? They don't understand that it isn't really their body they are aborting, it is someone else entirely new that needs them to be able to live. They are their mothers, they shouldn't be their murdurers. Our world today has demonized Christianity and it's belief that abortion is killing. They have disguised it as the "rights" of the mother and ignore the fact that there is actually a child growing inside of them, not a bunch of cells.

If these pictures arn't real humans, I don't know what is(These are NOT abortion pics so there is no warning needed):

All these babies deserve the right to live!

  8. I agree with Tracey.

  9. Pro Choice is a stance on a single topic.

Feminism is a lifestyle and overall belief. They aren't comparable.

You have to also take into account that there are many feminists who are also naturalists, which in this case abortion is not natural.

In response to your additonal info:

Carlin was funny, he wasn't necessarily to be taken seriously .. ever? You can be what you want to be. Its your life, you know?
