Question:

Is proactiv actually the best thing for acne?

I've been using proactiv for three years and I feel like it's too expensive for what it does. I still get pimples and my skin is all marked up, even though my initial acne was not even that bad! I heard somewhere that in some countries, it's illegal, and I also heard that it creates acne marks after the acne is healed. Is there anything cheaper you know of that gets rid of acne and leaves skin MARK FREE? That's the important thing. Right now I'm using this expensive Israeli stuff that I was tricked into buying...it's good but it has no anti-acne properties.

  1. ive been using proactiv on and off for a few years and the only time i actually SEE results is when i use the refining mask. when i wake up in the morning my zit is smaller, less red, and dried out. so i think that works pretty good for like a quick fix but proactiv doesnt really prevent acne otherwise.

  2. I use murad, i think it works better than anything else that i've tried. It is a little expensive, but nuetrogena works pretty well and is a lot less expensive

  3. i hated proactive honestly.

    i think noxzemaa is the

    best acne medicine && yes

    it actually works.

theres like another one && the scrub color is

    oranqe it works qreatt!!

  4. No, it sucks. Seriously I used it too, everyone tells you it works but it really really doesn't. Then my friend reccomended that I finally see a dermatoligist so I finally went. I asked if I could use the treatment differen. They gave me it and it worked amazingly. Then after my acne was gone I used a basic Nutrogena Face Wash because I didn't need the strong differen anymore. It's slightly expensive but you don't need to buy a lot of it and keep using it.

  5. u know why proactive  is not that great it has to much benzoyl peroxide which is not good to use a lot of because it dries up the skin..

i found this product call Murad and it does not contain any benzoyl peroxide which can irritate and dry up your skin.d is a 3 step treatment that is easy to put on and does not leave your skin feeling like you have a lot of stuff on.

    mura

    it has worked for me!

  6. Their are a few you could try, stuff that can just be bought in drugstores, like Neutrogena On-The-Spot acne remover. It doesn't leave marks, and it's fairly cheap. The Neutrogena line is really good. You could also go to a dermotologist and see if they have any suggestions as to good things to use.

  7. pro-active isnt design for everyone

i've been using it for a couple of wks and i see no results

try to boil water and let the steam work wonders for your face

  8. It didn't work for me, or anyone else I know.  In fact, it actually made my acne worse.

I use Desert Essence - Tea Tree Castle Liquid Soap, which is organic, and then I apply prescription acne medicine and then some alba oil free moisturizer (Because the medicine really dries my skin out.).  It works great.

Seriously, if you have acne issues, talk to to your doctor.  Sometimes you just have to get prescription medicine.

  9. NO. i would not use it. it's not worth it!!! i used it and it made my face burn. i would use clean and clear persagel 10. you can buy it at Target and any drug store.

  10. I tried Proactive for a few months and I didn't really do much for me.  Currently, I use Clean&Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit, it comes in in a box with 3 Steps--like Proactive--comes with cleanser, moisturizer(makes skin really soft), and acne medication.  In my opion, Clean&Clear works better than Proactive and it's cheaper.  I've never heard of Proactive being illegal, but I definetly don't think it's worth the money.  Don't use the Israeli stuff if it doesn't do anything for your acne.

  11. proactiv made my skin so much worse

now i use neutrogena acne stress control cream cleanser

    i love it

    hope i helped =)

  12. I tried Proactiv years ago and I think it sucks.  My new favorite line is called Yonka.  It is out of paris.  My estetician suggested it and it works so nice on my skin.  I use the gel wash, and then creme 15 and creme PG.  I think the creams are 40 a piece and the wash is about 35.  I try to stay away from harsh chemicals, they tend to make your face worse because it irritates your skin.  Most of the acne washes would make my skin worse.  This stuff works really well though.  Very natural.

  13. zap-it works awesome for acne. good luck!!

  14. hmm, try one of the other acne products that the advertise on tv.
