  1. The truth is, legal or Illegal, it is still tolerated in many parts of Mexico.

  2. I thought prostitution was illegal all over Mexico too. It certainly is in Yucatan. Then I found some information from the University of Rhode Island that talks about prostitution being legal on certain streets and during certain hours in Mexico City. Sounds pretty scary to me. I'm used to "family style" Yucatan - so we don't know anything at ALL about this!

  3. I have been all over Mexico and I have NEVER seen prostitution there.  If there is, it is prob on the down-low.  Mexico is a very Catholic Country & family oriented.

  4. No. Prostitution is not legal in Mexico. Most places it is tolerated. The General Assembly of the Federal District (Mexico City is part of the Federal District) is planning to discuss legalization of prostitution soon. In recent years the

prostitutes in Mexico City have been asking to be legalized and to be allowed to form a union.

If it does become legal and you wish to work here you will have to apply for a work visa from the federal gvt., be certified by the board of health, probably pay for a license to exercise your trade, pay taxes on your earnings every month as well as make a yearly declaration of income and you will have to be tested at least once a month for STDs.

    Hope this helps

  5. good question, i live in Mexico and i don't know =P, let me explain myself, you can find prostitutes and i thought that it wasnt illegal what i think it's illegal it's forcing the girls to work or charge them to let 'em work, etc like a pimp, and of course you cannot become a prostitute just for your will, they have certain places to be and some other rules, they have to get medical certifies etc.

  6. i have no idea what this person is talking about.  YES it is illegal.  it's often disguised as a "massage parlor" and also many strippers consider this a service that they are willing to offer.  but it is not legal.

  7. No its not, lots of people go there because its legal there.naveo laredo, just below laredo,tx all you have to do is drive across the boarder, but at the 1st of the year you would have to get or have a passport.also in juarz<----(sorry about the spelling)right below el paso,tx is also legal, and also right below san diego,ca you cross the boarder same thing there also.and you might already know this but here in the states only legal in nevada
