  1. it's a united states commonwealth with a capital of san juan

  2. Do you really want to know??Ok,

    Puerto Rico is a COLONY of the U.S....Unfortunately!!!!

  3. Country, it's a pretty welloff one too, I know someone who goes there every summer.

  4. A country, not a free country but an "organized & non incorpored territory" of the United States (for all practical means a colony, but many in USA & PR object that term).

    PR has 78 municipalities, some of them are cities, other just towns.

    A few cities in PR:

    * San Juan - capital city

    * Ponce

    * Bayamon

    * Carolina

    * Guaynabo

    * Mayaguez

    * Caguas

    Local goverment of PR is run by an elected Governor, not by a major of a city.  Each municipality/city/town has an elected major.

  5. It's a country but a US territory. San Juan is the capital.

  6. its a US territory.  its not independent so i dont think it can be considered a country...i'm not sure.   but its not a city.  are u for real??

  7. IT'S A COUNTRY, A U.S TERRITORY WITH 78 CITIES, SAN JUAN BEING THE CAPITOL IS THE LARGEST CITY, AND PONCE LOCATED SOUTH IS THE 2ND LARGEST

  8. Well, it's not a city, as there are many cities in the island itself...(78 municipalities, to be exact)

    as for the airfare between Atlanta to Puerto Rico, you can use this link:

    http://www.orbitz.com/

    The airfares vary greatly at different times of the year... right now, till just before thanksgiving, the price will be relatively low... After thanksgiving, prices skyrocket, and don't go down till after mid January.

    There's 3 Airports in Puerto Rico: (and the airport codes, to make your seach easier)

    San Juan (SJU)

    Aguadilla (BQN)

    Ponce (PSE)

    The code for the Atlanta airport is ATL

    I've found that traveling to Ponce has turned out to be the least expensive for me (from FL)...

    I tried checking for you, from 8/30 to 9/6 (just as an example) and found there are no flights from ALT to PSE

    I tried ALT to BQN and found this (no non-stop flights):

    I got this when I tried ATL to SJU (I guess traveling to San Juan would be cheaper in your case, after all ! ) :

    As for your last question, Puerto Rico is a country, but belongs to US (Commonwealth)

  9. PR is country a US territory!!!! by the way... I agree with plain jane...... Just GOOGLE IT!

  10. US territory: Commonwealth of the US

  11. The largest city in Puerto Rico is Utuado, that's up in the mountains. The second largest is Ponce in the southwest. San Juan is actually not so big. it;s just one of the most populated since it's a metro area. The others are small cities with large rural sorrounding barrios. Most tourists stay in the metro area and pay exhorbitant prices for everything. they should try the south and southwest with flourescent bays, and dolphin watching, secluded beaches and a lot cheaper lodgings. You can get a weeklong beachhouse for $300-400.

  12. The cost of the flight could be between $350-$400 all depends on which airline and how much they bill for the luggage etc cause not all of them charge the same.

    Second, Puerto Rico is a Country and is a commonwealth of the USA.

    Capital - SAN JUAN

  13. As a former resident of Cataño, PR, I'm in 100% agreement with "Jc22ny"

    Site below gives details on PR status...

  14. Puerto Rico is a US territory. It is a lovely island with many towns, cities and villages. The largest city is San Juan.

  15. Puerto Rico (IPA: /ˌpwertoˈriko/), officially the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Spanish: "Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico" [literally, English: "Associated Free State of Puerto Rico"), is a self-governing unincorporated territory of the United States located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin Islands. The territory is composed of an archipelago that includes the main island of Puerto Rico and a number of smaller islands and keys, the largest of which are Vieques, Culebra, and Mona. The main island of Puerto Rico is the smallest by land area but third largest by population among the four Greater Antilles (Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico).

    Airfare from Atlanta to Puerto Rico vary from $200-550 dollars depending of the time of year you visit

  16. country

    i just flew from atlanto to puerto rico

    it was 370$

  17. pssssssst     hey kiddo: are you aware ---sshhhhh--- of the existence of Google? All you have to do to get an amazing selection of resource websites is to type "Puerto Rico" into the Google search-box. When I use Google, I am constantly amazed at the breadth and depth of information available. One of the first sites that I go to after Google has opened the world to me is the Wikipedia site. "Wiki" invariably has a great description of the history, etc., of almost anything in the world, past or present, such mundane things as the "International Orange" paint used on the Golden Gate Bridge to the more esoteric topics like Einstein's Theory of relativity ... and geography stuff like --yup, you guessed it-- Puerto Rico !!!

  18. Puerto Rico is an Island, It in the Carribean, and it has many pueblos or small town, it does have a Capital San Juan and cities, it is a common wealth of the U.S. but if you need to fly to Puerto Rico the best bet since I am also near Atlanta, I drove to Orlando, Florida to and flew on spirit airlines, just become a $9.00 member and you could get flight from Orlando to P.R. for $9.00. Once you are a member they will send you email on there specials, I just went and took a family of 5 and spent less than 100 round trip. Go to www.spiritairline.com
