Question:

Is purchasing a veil online a good idea?

The bridal shop where I got my gown doesn't have any veils that drew my interest. The other bridal shops within the area don't either. I saw a few online that I liked, but don't want to order it and it look differently when it comes in.

  1. try davids bridal online if there isn't one near you. if you do just go there.

  2. its always a hit or miss when ordering online. check the return policy and order a couple that you like.. then keep the one that you want. by ordering more than one at a time you cut out the weeks of waiting for a new one to be mailed to you. if all else fails then youll have to find one locally.

  3. I like eBay when you can find a seller who specializes in veils because you can read the feedback and get a concept of other people’s experiences.

I think it depends on how picky you’re going to be. If having a veil the exact shade of white/off-white/winter white of your dress is crucial to you, or you want exactly 38 Swarovski crystals & they must be .14 in diameter, it’s probably not the choice for you.

I bought mine on eBay. I wanted something short & simple, but I wasn’t too concerned with other details. I got it for 20% of what it would have cost me in a bridal store.   I was completely happy, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Don’t be afraid to contact a seller before you buy to ask questions.

  4. You can get a fairly cheap one on ebay.com.  However, they really are not hard to make your own, mine took me, maybe 4 hours total, and I handstitched beading and a trim.  You can buy toulle at most fabric stores for much much cheaper.  I think I spent a total of about $10- $15 on my veil, as opposed to $200 or so.  There are many websites that take you through the simple step by step ways to cut and gather the toulle to the comb.  Just an idea!

  5. I didn't like any of the ones I saw in stores. I used http://occanseydesigns.com/

The site lets you customize every aspect of the veil. I was a little nervous, but my veil looks amazing... exactly what I wanted (something simpler, flat, and flowing). My questions were quickly answered by email.. and the best part, it only cost $27 with shipping. (I didn't get any extras like beading.)

    Highly Recommend!

  6. In my experience, I wouldn't order the veil online. I ordered a veil online. It looked lovely in the picture - but once I got it I didn't like it at all. It's not that it was a bad veil, but it wasn't what I was expecting - plus, then comb that was attached to the veil was of poor quality, so it kept falling off my head. I finally went to David's Bridal and bought a beautiful veil there.

I think it's better to buy one in person. But, some people have had luck with buying veils online - my experience unfortunately wasn't all that great.

If you have a David's Bridal in the area I recommend them. They have a lot more veils then just what they have pictured online.

    Good luck!

  7. DONT ORDER YOU VEIL ONLINE! I bought my veil on Ebay for $45.00. i came in the mail in one week. It didnt look ANYTHING like the picture. It look very CHEAP. So i returned it priority mail and NEVER got my money back. Luckly I found a beautiful one on sale in town. Whew! thank goodness. Keep looking but whatever you do...dont buy online!

  8. I would check your retailers return policy.

I ordered my veil for $20 on Ebay!  But it was just a simple fingertip, double layer, rolled edge veil.  I figured I was only going to wear it for a few hours & if I had to order another one it only cost me $20.

My veil was better than expected BTW!
