Is putting two 12 in subs in a suv a pain in the ***?

is it a pain in the *** to put 2 12 i subs in the back on an 2000 ford explorer?

do i have to change all the speakers in all 4 doors?

do i have to change the radio in it?

what more lol

but are they a pain in the *** to put in or should i just leave it alone and keep all the speakers that came with the suv in it?

  1. putting in subs are a pain in itself. period.

    No, I Dont think so

    Ya, You could keep all your speakers, its not nessesary to take them out unless they sound like c**p


  2. The hardest part of any sub installation job is running the RCA and power wires under the paneling so its not seen. If your using your stock deck (radio) then you would want to tap into one of the back speakers and get a signal RCA converter to go to your amp. So if you don't want to change your deck it won't be too difficult to add the subs because the only wiring you would need to run would be your power wire from the battery to the amp, your remote wire (antenna wire), and then a wire from the amp to a grounding point somewhere on the chassis of the car. Its not necessary to change all of the speakers or the deck unless you want too. I have two subs with an after market deck with all stock speakers and it sounds just fine.

    Bottom line is its not too hard but it does take time and work. If your not sure about how to do it then i would have a professional install it.
