Is pyridin hydrophobic or hydrophilic?

it is a benzen ring with nitrogen on carbon 2 of benzen ring.

  1. It is hydrophobic and I think it is the benzine ring.


  2. The structural formula of pyridine ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyridine ) shows its polarity making it hydrophilic.

    Substances like pyridine with free electron-pairs but no active atom are called "passive hydrophilic"; they are able to form "hydrogen-bridges" with other polar molecules.
