  4. No.  It's not really academic enough.  Women's Studies classes usually include a range of books on feminist theory from Mary Wollstonecraft to Judith Butler.  

    Dowd is a journalist rather than a theorist and while her book might be interesting in terms of the discourse of gender relationship in western culture, it's very unlikely to be on the reading list.

  6. Maybe as a discussion starter for a start of year tutorial, but most students at universities are expected to study academic texts, not popular writers.

  9. Life without men would suck and you know it. Women back stab each other so much, that men provide a necessary escape from the competitiveness and spitefulness you feel when you hang out with the girls a little too much.
