  1. The only Elvira that is know is the queen of Goth.

  2. Elvira means Foreign And True and is spanish

Elvis means All Wise and is Scandinavian

so that would be a no...however I dont know the female version.

  3. To the best of my knowledge, the two are unrelated and neither has an "opposite gender counterpart."

Elvira is a girl's name and is derived from Spanish, often meaning "white" or "pure" or "beautiful."

Elvis is a boy's name, derived from the English, to refer to elf-wise, a derivative of "Alvin."

  4. The only masculine form of Elvira I could find was Elvir.

And I did find Elvisa, which they say is the feminine form of Elvis but the origins aren't listed.

  5. That would be my guess but the only time I've heard Elvira pronounced (EL-VY-RUH) was in the movies, the rest of the time I hear it pronounced (EL-VEER- UH)

BTW: My real name is Alexis but it's actually a male Greek name.....

  6. hmmm..good point, maybe...
