are semicolons most appropriate?

If you can give me the best way to address one person, two people, more than 3 people, and hundreds of people, that would be much appreciated!

e.g.

Hi ___,

Hi ____ and _____,

Hi _____ et al.,

Greetings,

  1. hi everybody whats up.

    or hi everyone

  2. Hi, Sam.  (it needs the comma)

    Hi, Sam and Bob

    Hi, All

  3. First of all, it's imporatnt to know whether the message is formal or informal.

For formal emails, you must use a colon and avoid the use of hi.

    Dear Bob:

For informal emails, you should use a comma. (Dear or hi)

If you have multiple recipients, the best way should be Dear all (formal)

and Hi all or Hi folks or Hello everyone (informal).

  4. Hi all
