Is it considered politically correct to refer to native north americans as "Injuns"?

  3. My guess is that I think it's one of those words that is ok (maybe not in all circles) to say if you happen to be it, otherwise it's off limits.

  6. If you are talking about the part that makes a car run, and simply can't pronounce it well, you can probably say it.

    If you are talking about people, you are in deep doo doo.

  7. Politically correct or not, it is just not correct or proper to call them "Injuns".  Which is just a lazy or ignorant way of saying Indians.

    They are Native Americans.

    The word Indian came about because Columbus thought he discovered the route around the world, and had come to India.
