  1. All the Lucys I know are dogs.

But I don't see it being a problem.

  2. I probably wouldnt use it, but if you like it, use it. Its your decision :D. I just like more unique names personally, so I dont really like Lucy. But yeah, I've heard it for a couple of dogs.

  3. i think of 2 things when i hear the name Lucy.

    the Peanuts cartoons.

and a beautiful American Pit Bull Terrier named Lucy that i had for 13 1/2 wonderful years.

sorry, but it's a name that is BEST suited to a dog IMHO.

    for a baby...Lucille, Lucinda....etc are best suited.

  4. Lucy is a horrible name

  5. its very old fashioned...and yes, its gone to the dogs in my opinion

  6. I've never heard a dog named Lucy. I love the name Lucy it's so adorable!*

  7. Maybe a little. There's a trickle-down effect that does mean that most popular names, eventually, end up on pets of all sorts.

Still, you can't go wrong with it. It's a real name, and a beautiful name at that.

  8. I love the name Lucy too, it reminds me of the show "I love lucy". Also I like Lacy, which is not as "old fashioned" and you can call them lucy lol, just a thought.

  9. I don't think so. I've never met a dog named Lucy, and know of several small Lucy girls. I think Lucy is an adorable name, and much better than some of the trendy names that have gained ground lately.

  10. Lucy is a beautiful name and one of my favorites. i have never associated it with a dog.  Good choice.

  11. Lucia (loo-chee-yah)

    Luciana (loo-chee-yah-nah)

    Lucille

    Lucinda

Any of those names could have Lucy as a nick name - and they are all beautiful names, in my opinion.

As for just using Lucy - in the past decade it has become more common as a pet name, birds, dogs and cats, so yeah, that's something to consider.

But if you absolutely love the name - what does it matter?  Use it.  JMO

    Blessings

  12. Lucy is a great name.  People give their animals people names all the time.  That doesn't make a name unusable as a people name.  No matter how many dogs are named Lucy, people will always think of I Love Lucy when they hear that name.  Lucy, Ricky, Fred, Ethel and Vitameatagegamen Forever!

  13. Yeah my boyfriend has a dogie named Lucy, BUT its still a cute name

  14. my dog is named lucy i know lots of dog owners choosing that name later

  15. I like the name Lucy... i've heard it for a couple dogs - but not many.

  16. I like the name Lucy. It reminds me of Lucille Ball. But I have to say it has been a popular name for dogs. Samantha is a dog name too which I do not mind for an animal. I hate the name Samantha. It is better suited for a dog.

  17. I have a goat named Lucy lol! I still don't associate the name to animals though. I think it's cute, if you like it use it.
