Is "Ohayo gozaimasu" for lovers to use for each other?

If not, how would one say Good morning to his/her lover?

  1. No, not really.  It is a very formal phrase and if you are lovers, you are actually a bit better off with just ohaiyo.

    However, if you are not Japanese and she is, she will find it endearing that you try.  And in this case, you are much better off stumbling over the longer phrase.


  2. Ohayo gozaimasu is the polite way of greeting somebody 'good morning'.

    you can just say 'ohayo' to people that are close to you, its just that in that matter-you dont need to be too polite for people that are around you that much.

    Just like in english you greet the person saying 'good morning' then add an endearment at the end..same with nihonggo...
