Is "communiting through statues" a common practice with psychics?

A psychic I went to had a lot of Indian statues in her house...about 30 it seems like. I think they were on the floor as you went through the door. She said if you laid your hands on them..they would speak to you.(not out loud..but in your mind) Are you familiar with this? What do you think about this? Can..or do..spirits speak through statues? (any kind of statue?) Have you ever done this and does it really happen?

  1. she isn't talking about spirits within the statues, but the energy. She's talking about psychometry. Everything that's been owned or touched by someone else has a "story" to be told within it and some psychics are fairly good at this. The older it is, the more history it's bound to have. Though there are some objects that deceased owners will follow, simply because they treasure it so much. But I don't think this is the case with her statues.

So let's say you have an old statue that was once owned by someone who died a long time ago. Someone practiced in psyometry can lay their hands on it and see the people who owned it. Last summer we went down to the Train Museum in Sacremento California and I couldn't resist running around and touching everything. The place was just filled with this wonderful energy. I could see and feel and hear the passengers that had once traveled on them, heard their stories. Was really neat.

  2. Common?  I don't think so.  Many psychics don't need a thing to hold a spirit that they touch.  Some could have that happen sometimes - I think it has more to do with their religion than their psychic ability, how they hear what they hear.

A spirit can be reached in this world by any material thing, if the material thing is enchanted.  Rocks, statues, and dolls are common icons that can be a "home for the spirit" if you want to see it that way.  I've never done it intentionally because it sounds creepy to me.

A statue could also work as a door, and when you touch it, it opens a part of your mind to hear a spirit of a certain kind.  I touched a ouija board game in the store once - just the box - and could not stop hearing whatever voice connected to it until I left the store.  Not a pleasant thing.  Spirits can "inhabit" food and drink too, I think, but the only experience I've had with that is a dark evil "force" around certain brands of liquor on the shelf, and I'm not a drinker.  On the happier side, there is good energy in some religious books, being a safe place.  They're everywhere.
