"world class" players is the most over-used cliche.

there cant be more than about 30 truly world class players in the world.

i think it should now be changed to

"up, up, and away"

yes they are expected too but honestly how many really do look at Shevchenko still benching and Drogba still getting injured and C.Ronaldo still being g*y so who really improves
