Is "the Spine" actually the skeleton of a dragon? From the inheritance cycle.?

Does anybody else think that there is the possibility? In the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini, there is a mountain range know as the spine. Since the dragons were native to Alagaesia, is it possible that the mountains are actually the bones of an ancient dragon? It fits, seeing as how dragons continue to grow until they are killed. Maybe one got that big before it died, ages before the elves and humans came, and the corpse gradually became the mountain range. If you look at the map, Vroengard even looks like a giant back foot of a dragon, and Bierland looks like it could be a front foot, surrounded by smaller bones that could be...teeth? Any theories?

  1. I doubt it seeing as it stretchs all the way down the coast. That would be a tad silly if a dragon was that big! but yeah nice theory! Cant wait for Brisingr!

  2. i doubt it. obvious flaws i see: what would it eat? and what would have killed it?

    otherwise might work...

  3. Never noticed it before but now you say it i think it might be.

Even though the Spine is in Carvahall isn't it?

  4. it is very good theory, but if that would be possible, it would have a legend among the inhabitants of alagaesia, and remember: the native inhabitants of alagaesia are: the dragons and dwarves.
